Paso Doble
Task one- Context of dance.
Paso Doble is a Latin ballroom dance which translates to two step. The fast pace music which is accompanied by the fast steps of a military march. The genre of this dance is Latin ballroom, this dance originates from Spain. The idea of this dance, is to represent the Matador and the red fabric used to entice the bull. Paso Doble first started in the 16th century.
Task two- stylistic features.
- posture and pulling in core to accentuate the upper part of the body.
- looking into each others eyes
- cupped and splayed hands
- rolled back shoulders
- lean in the walks to show aggression
- lady representing the elegant red cloth and the man representing the Matador.
- arms in curve the pulled backwards to lift the body up and show power.
